Xerox's ColorQube -- Is it Right for Your Fort Collins Business?

Xerox's ColorQube -- Is it Right for Your Fort Collins Business?

If you are unfamiliar with solid ink technology, you have missed out on a pretty big factor in the printing and copying world.  Xerox bought Tektronix back in the day and the main reason was for this technology.  There are good parts as well as bad, but most people who use this technology in Fort Collins really really love it!  It can make cheap paper look like you spent money on glossy paper (because wax is shiny)…

The Colorqube 9201, ColorQube 9202 and ColorQube 9203 are interesting players in the copier market because they cost more than traditional copiers up front, but their operating costs are so much lower that this initial gap can be overcome.  A good time to start taking a look at the Xerox ColorQube in Fort Collins is when you do 5,000 or more color prints per month.

We are currently in the process of being Xerox authorized on this product for Colorado markets.  If you need the ColorQube 9201, ColorQube 9202 or the Colorqube 9203 today, we would not be able to help you.  Assuming all goes well with Xerox, we will go from being a Peak reseller to a Peak Premier reseller meaning at that time, we can sell the ColorQube.  We are hoping this is within the next month or so.  Whether you wait for us to be authorized or push forward and find an authorized Xerox Agent is your choice, but we feel this will be great for companies with high color volume and low thresholds for error.

Kyocera TaskAlfa 300CI Review

Kyocera TaskAlfa 300CI Review

Have you been looking for a color copier in Fort Collins?  A lot of people will simply call their copier rep and buy whatever their Fort Collins copier rep recommends.  Before you do this, let us give you a few reasons to consider the Kyocera TaskAlfa 300CI:

  1. The Kyocera TaskAlfa 300CI has one of the lowest TCO’s in the industry
  2. The Kyocera TaskAlfa 300CI uses long life parts which help the environment (OK, technically it does not “help” the environment to have waste…  maybe we should say, “hurt less” since there is so much less waste
  3. The Kyocera 300CI in using long life copier parts makes it so you don’t have to get copier maintenance in Fort Collins as much.

These are the top three reasons to look at the Kyocera TaskAlfa 300CI in Fort Colins.  Call us for any copier need though!

Don’t Become the Target of a Greedy Copier Rep!

Are You a Target?

Are You a Target?

I have dealt with two companies in Fort Collins this week that have OVERBOUGHT on their last copier to such an extreme that I had to ask “are you sure” about 5 times in each situation.

In the first situation, it was an architechture firm who had spent about $20,000 on their last copier to print just 800 color copies a month and 1200 Black and White Copies.  Yes, 2,000 copies a month for 3 years and spent over $20,000.00 … If you work out the math, and count color and black and white as equal (which they aren’t) this company has been spending more than $.27 per copy.  I think this was a severe overkill.

Situation #2 had a title company with about 3,000 pages a month and they bought a 55 page per minute black and white machine on a 63 month lease.  They spend about $375 a month for these prints.  (That’s what her contract costs a month.)  Do the math again and you’ll see that she’s paying $.125 per print.  problem is, none of them are color prints.

There are a lot of copier reps who want to over sell you.  We don’t subscribe to this theory.  if you have been getting hosed over by your copier company, feel free to call them so they can do it some more, or call us and get a competitive quote here in Fort Collins.

Don’t Get Snowed Under Because Your Copier Was not Set Up Well!

Don't Get Snowed Under Because You Copier Wasn't Installed Correctly

Don't Get Snowed Under Because You Copier Wasn't Installed Correctly

As a copier rep in Fort Collins, one of the more amazing things I see is that people pay $10,000 for a high end copier, and then they don’t even have all of the features set up properly.  I will ask them to send me a quick scan to email and they blankly look at me and then say they never had that feature set up.  What??  One of the most common things people do, and they didn’t bother to have it set up.  Now if they need a scan, it requires some kludgy system that no one really knows how to do very well…

Copiers are complex machines.  When you pay for a copier, you are not just paying for the engine that makes the prints, but also the interface and the software that comes with the copier.  I agree unnecessary items  should not be installed, as it only adds to confusion…  but your rep should take the time to let you know what is available and see if there is a need for that feature.  If they are merely trying to get you to sign on the line that is dotted, rather than actually trying to help your office be happy and efficient, i would say you are working with the wrong rep.

If you need a copier in Fort Collins, please give me a call and i will be happy to go over all your options with you.

Does Going Green Have to Cost You a Ton?

Going Green with Your Next Copier

Going Green with Your Next Copier

Green, Green, Green, this and the economy are about all we hear about these days.  At Fort Collins copier, we support green initiatives, but some of the programs out there are more fluff than reality.  All the manufacturers know that going green can help them make sales.  So, how can you weed through who is actually going green and who’s just talking to make sales?  What can you look for?

  • Copiers that come packaged with easily recyclable materials rather than the old standbyes are a good place to start.  Kyocera is probably the best right now…
  • Copiers that use lower power amounts for the same speeds
  • Copiers that use less ink or safer inks
  • Copiers that produce no ozone
  • Copier companies that have good recycling plans available for out of order broken units.

This would be a great place to start.  Now, the good news is the most environmentally efficient copiers also happen to be the cheapest copiers to run.  So, going green doesn’t have to break the bank.  In fact your costs are likely to go down and not up if you consider the environment.  As us how we can help your office go green!

Time to Lock up Copier Savings in Fort Collins!

How to Lock in Copier Savings

How to Lock in Copier Savings

There are more and more cost per print plans out there.  Instead of just your copiers, now we’re looking at your printers.  Why?  Because the numbers of pages produced by copiers has drastically been reduced over the last 3years and the number of prints continue to rise.  Much of this is owed to scanning technology and the fact most people have access to scanned documents so copiers are not as necessary as they were 20 years ago to efficiently run a business.

Have you been thinking about signing up for a cost per print plan?  If you have been, here are a few good things to remember…

  1. If you are buying a color copier in Fort Collins, make sure there is not a penalty if you go over 20% coverage.
  2. If you get a tabloid machine, make sure you really need it.
  3. If you are getting a cost per print quote, also get a competitive quote.
  4. Make sure the cost per print plan includes maintenence
  5. Worry more about Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) than your initial price
  6. Don’t be afraid to ask questions.  Lot of them.

As you are more involved in the process and understanding what you need, you are more likely to get it from your copier company in Fort Collins.  if you do not have a company or are frustrated, or just want a quote…  please give us a call right away to discuss your copier needs.
